To add a custom thumbnail to your YouTube video, follow these steps:
Sign in to YouTube Studio: Go to YouTube Studio and sign in with your account.
Upload or Select a Video: If you're uploading a new video, click on the "Create" button at the top-right corner and select "Upload videos." If you want to change the thumbnail of an existing video, go to the "Content" section from the left sidebar and click on the video you want to edit.
Access the Thumbnail Section: For a new upload, during the upload process, you'll see the "Video details" page. Scroll down until you find the "Thumbnail" section.
For an existing video, after selecting the video from the "Content" section, click on the "Details" tab and scroll to the "Thumbnail" section.
Add Custom Thumbnail: In the "Thumbnail" section, you will see three auto-generated thumbnails provided by YouTube. To upload your custom thumbnail, click on the "Upload thumbnail" button. Choose the image file from your computer. Ensure that your thumbnail meets YouTube's requirements (JPG, GIF, BMP, or PNG under 2MB).
Save Changes: After uploading the custom thumbnail, make sure to save your changes by clicking the "Save" button at the top-right corner.
By following these steps, you can enhance the visual appeal of your videos and potentially increase viewer engagement.
